Bluegrass Crime Stoppers is an independent nonprofit, not a police agency. It exists to be a buffer between people with information and the police — so that a tipster can share what they know without giving up their identity. Tips are received by the nonprofit, given a numeric reference, and forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency. If a tip leads to an arrest, the original tipster can collect a cash reward — paid in cash, identified only by their reference number, with no name attached.
How to submit a tip
- Phone: Call the tip line listed on the Bluegrass Crime Stoppers site. Operators take the information and assign a reference number.
- Web: Submit a written tip through the form on bluegrasscrimestoppers.com. No account or login is required.
- Mobile: Most Crime Stoppers networks support the P3 Tips mobile app for encrypted submissions.
- Reward: Cash rewards are paid for tips that lead to an arrest. Amount depends on the case. Tipsters identify themselves only by their tip reference number.
Things worth knowing
- People on the list have not been convicted. Being on a Most Wanted list means law enforcement wants to locate or speak with someone — it is not a finding of guilt. Treat the information accordingly.
- The list changes. People are added and removed as cases develop. Always check the source link above for the current list rather than relying on screenshots circulating elsewhere.
- Do not approach. If you recognize someone on the list, report the information — don't attempt to detain or confront them. Bluegrass Crime Stoppers and the LPD will handle the law-enforcement response.
- Emergency situations: If a crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
