Ferguson KY Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Baseball Bat Attack on Two People

A 44-year-old Ferguson, Kentucky man is facing two counts of attempted murder after allegedly attacking two people with a baseball bat early Sunday morning, leaving both victims hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Waddle Street at approximately 5:43 a.m. after a 911 call reported that a man β€” later identified as Jonathan Gross β€” had struck the caller and his girlfriend with a baseball bat.

The caller told dispatchers he and his girlfriend were able to escape from Gross long enough to make the emergency call. When deputies arrived on scene, they found a woman outside the residence bleeding from a head wound. She told officers that Gross had struck her in the head with the bat and that he had barricaded himself inside a bedroom.

After multiple attempts to get Gross to exit the bedroom voluntarily, deputies entered the room and took him into custody without further incident.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The sheriff's office has not released further details on their conditions.
